Adverse Childhood Experiences​

Speaker: Dr. Hanie Edalati

Dr. Hanie Edalati is a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Université de Montréal. She also collaborates with the Dr. Julien/Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation Chair in Community Social Pediatrics. She holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies in Psychology and Psychiatry from the University of British Columbia in addition to her training in clinical psychology.

Her research focuses on the consequences of growing up in an unpropitious environment, in particular negative childhood experiences, on brain development, on personality and behaviour, as well as on the risk of developing addictions and risk-taking behaviours in adolescents. Her research contributes to the design and implementation of specific intervention programs for at-risk children and adolescents.
