Sharing initiatives and success stories: Dr Clown in social pediatrics, is it serious?

Presentation : Atlas - Côte-des-Neiges CSPC

Description:

In this presentation, the speakers share a fascinating experience of the impact of clown doctors in social pediatrics. They describe how these special clowns visit children in difficult situations, creating a comforting and reassuring environment for youngsters. The clowns become mediators between different cultures and bridges to build strong bonds. They help children develop social skills, deal with the unexpected, boost their self-esteem and learn the rules of social life, all through playful, therapeutic interactions. The bonds forged with the clowns also transfer to the center, where the whole team works together to support the children holistically. Ultimately, this initiative transforms children’s lives by giving them the opportunity to simply be children, to laugh, to live, and to develop their full potential.
